Artwork
One’s eyes are immediately drawn to the artwork known as «Neon Works: The Scream” by artist Tracey Emin. Inspired by Edward Munch, who was once a regular guest at Grand Hotel, this work of art is a striking blue interpretation of The Scream.
The origins of the name Othilia
Othilia bar is named after Othilia Lasson Engelhart, more commonly known as Oda, who was a bohemian princess, as well as an artist and wife of Christian Krogh. While Grand Café was a venue reserved exclusively for men, Oda regularly took part in gatherings there, smoking cigarettes and sipping cocktails. Oda was a leading figure in Kristiania’s bohemia scene.
