In addition to being named "Norway's Leading Business Hotel" and "Norway's Leading Hotel" for the ninth and seventh consecutive years, respectively, the hotel also won the award for "Norway's Leading Hotel Suite" for the Nobel Suite this year.

- This is a significant recognition for all of us at Grand Hotel Oslo by Scandic. Our hotel is a landmark in Oslo, and we continuously strive to develop and create fantastic hotel experiences," says hotel director Toril Flåskjer, who oversaw the renovation and modernization of 60 rooms in 2023.

Historical Significance

The story begins in 1901 when the first Nobel Peace Prize laureates stood on the balcony and received the applause of the public from the street below. Influential figures like Martin Luther King, Nelson Mandela, Barack Obama, and Malala Yousafzai are just a few of the notable individuals who have stayed in the suite.

- The suite has a unique history and has been at the center of numerous global events for over 120 years. This, combined with its stunning design, makes the Nobel Suite an attraction in itself, says Flåskjer.

The Nobel Suite underwent a complete renovation in 2020 by interior designer Hanne Gathe and is an iconic and beautiful suite spanning 71 square meters. It is furnished in a classic style and features a balcony with views of the Norwegian Parliament and Karl Johans gate.

Grand Hotel Oslo by Scandic is an iconic hotel with a history dating back to 1874. The Nobel Suite also boasts a rich history, now being named "Norway's Leading Hotel Suite."
